Site description (2001 baseline):
Site location and context
An area of forest, along river valleys, surrounded by an agricultural landscape and steppes.
Only one short survey was carried out in 1996, so available information is incomplete. The IBA has a high diversity of eagles with 4-6 breeding pairs of various species.
Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Almost unprotected. Only 40 ha of IBAs covered by the "water" Nature Monument "Lake Ilmen".
