Dalai Nur Nature Reserve


Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Located on the Hulun Buir Plateau. The northern tip of the IBA is a hilly area (at around 650-1,000 m), with flat land to the south (at around 550-700 m). The wetlands at Dalai Nur have extensive areas of reed and other water plants.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as Dalai Nur National Nature Reserve (740,000 ha) in 1992. The reserve was designated in 2002 as a ‘Wetland of International Importance’ (or Ramsar site) under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. It was also designated in 2002 as a ‘Biosphere Reserve’ under UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme.
