Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An area of cereal crops and olive-groves in the Gaudajoz river valley. The site includes lakes and also some urban areas.
This is an important site for steppic species and riverine forest species.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from high levels of pesticide use, the enlargement of olive-groves, plans to irrigate crops, sedimentation of lakes and ploughing of natural vegetation.
