Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
The site is located on the east Padana plain, close to the village of Codigoro, inland of the Po delta. The pools of a sugar factory are the main land-use of the area, together with nature conservation.
A large mixed heronry. The presence of the colony is linked to the sugar-factory pools.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No major threats are present.
