Site description (2000 baseline)
A narrow strip of coastal saltmarsh and some islets. Marine areas surrounding this IBA (and previously included within it following Grimmett and Jones 1989) are included in Northern Kattegat (site 119).

Key biodiversity
This is an important staging area for Calidris alpina and Pluvialis apricaria. The site holds more than 20,000 waterfowl. Species listed on Annex I of the Birds Directive that breed at the site include Sterna sandvicensis and S. paradisaea.
