Site location and context
Small ponds used for irrigation, with emergent vegetation (
Phragmites, Typha, Scirpus), surrounded by irrigated crops.
This is an important site for breeding waterbirds and wintering ducks.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from agricultural intensification, dredging, disturbance and hunting.
