Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A reservoir on the River Guadiana surrounded by areas of sclerophyllous scrub,
Quercus woodland,
Pinus plantations, dehesas, pasture and non-irrigated arable cultivation.
This is an important site for breeding raptors and
Ciconia nigra.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat is from disturbance by hunters, particularly to breeding
Aegypius monachus.
