Site description (2009 baseline):

Chen Hu lake is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, 48 km from Wuhan City. It is a typical Yangtze basin lake which buffers flood waters.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a city-level nature reserve in 1995.
