Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A mountainous area on the border with Andorra, with large Pinus woodlands and alpine pastures. The area is used for livestock-farming, game hunting, hiking, and skiing.



Key biodiversity
This is an important area for alpine species.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat is from skiing inside the forest and from continuing development of the skiing related infrastructure. Intensive forestry is also a threat.



Protected areas
National Partial International None19,437 ha of IBA covered by National Game Reserve (Cerdana, 19,437 ha).
