Site description (2004 baseline)
Large raised bog with many small lakes and a zone of transitional mire and fen in the centre. In particular the southern part of the site is used for peat extraction. Listed as an IBA since 1994 [3, 4, 1]. Partially protected: there is a 85.5% overlap with Cena bog restricted nature reserve, a candidate SPA.
