Site description (2000 baseline)
Large plains dominated by non-irrigated cereal cultivation with some dry grasslands. Riverine forest occurs along the banks of the River Carrión.
Key biodiversity
This is an important site for steppic species. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Falco naumanni (6 resident pairs) and Tetrax tetrax (resident).
