Site location and context
An upland area dominated by scrub and cereal cultivation.
This is an important area for steppic birds, particularly
Chersophilus duponti. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Otis tarda (resident).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from a dam project and from overgrazing. Within the site there is a private ornithological reserve managed by SEO (800 ha).
