Site description (2003 baseline):
The endangered Wetar Ground-dove
Gallicolumba hoedtii was recorded and collected in 1932, but not recorded in observations by Dreyer (1991), Verbelen (1995), Noske & Saleh (1996), Lesmana
et.al. (2000).
Semi-deciduous forest surrounded by
Tectona grandis (teak) forest (Noske & Saleh 1996, BKSDA VII 1997, Lesmana
et.al 2000)
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Livestock grazing, illegal hunting and wood cutting (Noske & Saleh 1996, Lesmana
et.al 2000)
2000 ha of this area has been declared as Recreation Park based on SK Menteri Kehutanan No. 89/Kpts-II/1983 on 2 December 1983 (Anon 1995b).
