Site location and context
Situated about 5 km west of St Andrews, this reservoir was formed following the impoundment of the Cameron Burn. The reservoir is moderately nutrient-rich and supports fringing aquatic and marginal vegetation, which is succeeded by
Salix carr. The IBA is important for wintering waterbirds, and as an autumn and winter roost for geese.
