Site description (2000 baseline)
Four freshwater lakes surrounded by reedbeds, forest and agricultural land.

Key biodiversity
Aythya fuligula is present in important numbers (reaching B1i threshold) in some years, but no recent data are available. Nielstrup Sø, the smallest of the lakes, holds the majority of breeding birds. Circus aeruginosus, listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive, breeds at the site.
