Site summary
Its unprotected fresh water body located in the province of Annaba in the extreme northeast of Algeria (360 50'45'N, 70 43'47' E).


Its a wintering quarter but is home to a diverse nesting population of up to 20 species, making it one of the most important breeding areas in Algeria.

A large  number of breeding species (20) have been recorded their, hence its outstanding role in conserving avian biodiversity. Species breedin in this wetland include the White-headed Duck, Marbled Teal (VU), Common Porchard (VU) and Ferrruginous Duck (NT).
