Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
The site comprises slightly improved grasslands, arable land, Fagus, Quercus, Alnus and Salix forest, small villages and urban areas.



Key biodiversity
The site is important for grassland species. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (breeding).



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include agriculture, urbanization, airfield expansion and disturbance from tourism. There is a proposal to create a Biosphere Reserve of 2,300 ha in the IBA.



Protected areas
National Low International None1,800 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (1,800 ha).
