Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
The site comprises slightly improved grasslands, arable land
, Fagus, Quercus, Alnus and
Salix forest, small villages and urban areas.
The site is important for grassland species. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Crex crex (breeding).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include agriculture, urbanization, airfield expansion and disturbance from tourism. There is a proposal to create a Biosphere Reserve of 2,300 ha in the IBA.

International None1,800 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (1,800 ha).
