Site description (2000 baseline):

A plain to the east of Zafra with non-irrigated cereal cultivation, grasslands, and dehesas. There are also some vineyards and olive-groves.

An important area for wintering Grus grus and breeding steppic birds.

The main threat is from powerlines.
