Berdyans'ka peninsula


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A sandy peninsula in the Sea of Azov, together with the estuary of the Berda river, near the town of Berdyansk.



Key biodiversity
The total number of breeding waterbirds is 3,000-5,000 pairs, while the total number of waterbirds staging on passage is 30,000-40,000 individuals.



Protected areas
National None International High1,800 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Berda River Mouth and Berdianka Spit and Berdianska Bay, 1,800 ha).
