Site description (2000 baseline):

An area of plains to the west of Villafáfila, mainly covered by non-irrigated cereal crops with small areas of scrub and grassland.

This is an important site for breeding steppic species.

The main threats are from irrigation, afforestation of agricultural land and a high hunting pressure.
