Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Beiping is on the southern slopes of the Dabashan mountains. The habitats in the IBA include broadleaf evergreen forest, mixed broadleaf evergreen and deciduous forest and coniferous evergreen forest. At 1,400-1,900 m there are patches of agricultural land, scrub and commercial woodland.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Panthera pardus, Cervus albirostris, Macaca mulatta, Felis temmincki, Moschus berezovskii, Neofelis nebulosa, Viverra zibetha, Viverricula indica and Naemorhedus goral.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Located in Dabashan National Nature Reserve (136,017 ha), which was established in 1979.
