Site description (2002 baseline)
The IBA is constituted by two different areas: the first, east from the Morro de Castelo Branco, is of dificult access, with cliffs 50m high; the second includes the area west from the Morro, with the higher seacliffs, up to 200m. The bay of Varadouro has rich woodlands. All the area of the IBA start in the coastline and goes up to the top of the seacliffs.

Key biodiversity
Important for seabirds, especially for the Cory's Shearwater.
