Site description (2000 baseline)
The Bay of Torslandaviken forms one of two branches of the mouth of one of Sweden's largest rivers.

Key biodiversity
This is one of the most important sites on the west coast for wintering and passage waterbirds and shorebirds, due to an abundance of food caused by nutrient input from a water-purification plant at the river mouth. A total of 203 species of bird have been recorded in the Bay.
