Batpakkol lake

IBA Justification

The site was identified as internationally important for bird conservation in 2013 because it was regularly supporting significant populations of the species listed below, meeting ('triggering') IBA criteria.

Populations meeting IBA criteria ('trigger species') at the site:
Species Red List Season (year/s of estimate) Size IBA criteria
White-headed Duck Oxyura leucocephala EN passage (2012) 1–3 birds A1
Red-breasted Goose Branta ruficollis VU passage (2007–2011) 550–803 birds A1, A4i
Greylag Goose Anser anser LC passage (2007–2011) 450–5,734 birds A4i
Lesser White-fronted Goose Anser erythropus VU passage (2007–2011) 86–930 birds A1, A4i
Common Crane Grus grus LC passage (2007–2012) 292–3,860 birds A4i
A4iii Species group - waterbirds n/a passage (2011) 3,771–28,000 birds A4iii

IBA Conservation

Ideally the conservation status of the IBA will have been checked regularly since the site was first identified in 2013. The most recent assessment (2015) is shown below.
