Site location and context
The site contains maquis, garrigue, vineyards and rocky slopes.
This is an important site for species associated with Mediterranean habitats. It is also a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 raptors regularly pass (including
Pernis apivorus 20,000;
Milvus migrans 5,000). Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Tetrax tetrax (breeding).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Land abandonment and recreational developments are the main threats.
