Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A bay and estuary with rocky islets, mudflats, saltmarshes, sand and shingle-beaches and coastal dunes.



Key biodiversity
This is an important site for wintering waterbirds, particularly Branta bernicla and Calidris alpina.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Fishing, hunting and boating are the main human activities, leading to some disturbance within the site.



Protected areas
National Low International Low1,300 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Iles des Théviec et Gevric, 1,300 ha). 860 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Baie de Quiberon, 860 ha).
