Bacha Dao Nature Reserve


Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Located to the north-east of Tongjiang City, along the Heilong Jiang (Amur River) which forms to Chinese border with Russia. The nature reserve is made up of about 60 islands in the river, with Bacha Dao the largest island in area (about 4,000 ha).

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a nature reserve in 1999, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2003.
