Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A massif at the eastern end of the Sistema Central mountains. The dominant vegetation is sclerophyllous scrub with small
Quercus and
Fagus woods and extensive
Pinus plantations. Hunting and forestry are the most important human activities.
This is an important site for breeding raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from forestry activities, particularly the construction of new tracks and roads, increasing tourism and dams on rivers.
