Site location and context

A mountain in southern Pindos with well-forested slopes, alpine grasslands and cliffs.

Key biodiversity

This is an important area for raptors and forest and scrub species.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity

The main threats are from deforestation and increasing holiday home construction. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.

Protected areas

National Low International None1,440 ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Ag. Paraskeui-Kranies/Pramanton, 1,440 ha). 1,572 ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Melissourgon, 1,572 ha). 1,000 ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Vourgareliou, 1,000 ha).
