Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A freshwater lake, marshes and wet meadows 2 km north-west of Vafiohori village. The area is divided by a canal. Human activities include arable agriculture, stock-raising, and hunting.

Key biodiversity
This is an important site for passage and wintering waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Haliaeetus albicilla (passage).

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
