As at January 2021, this marine IBA is completely or primarily within CCAMLR subarea: 48.1, and CCAMLR MPA planning domain: 1
1 species triggers IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. An estimated 38219 - 79794 Adelie Penguins primarily from 8 colonies (as per the analysis) are present at the site during the chick-rearing period (Nov-Jan). Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Primary threats believed to be having population and site level impacts to penguin species in this marine IBA: Climate Change
Jan 2021: marine IBA could be afforded further protection if proposed D1MPA for Antarctic Peninsula and nearby islands is implemented
