Site description (2000 baseline)
A small coastal lagoon east of the town of Aegio, with reedbeds (Phragmites), saltmarsh and shingle-beach. The site is popular for recreation.
Key biodiversity
The site is important for overwintering ducks, migrating waders and other passage migrants. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aythya nyroca (5-25 passage individuals), Larus audouinii (5-35 passage individuals).
