Site description (2000 baseline)
Large plantations (coniferous and deciduous) on former heathland with glades and many, mostly small, wetlands with bogs and water-fringe vegetation.

Key biodiversity
The only known breeding site in Denmark for Aegolius funereus (max. 2 pairs). Other species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive that breed at the site include Pernis apivorus, Milvus milvus, Grus grus, Aegolius funereus, Caprimulgus europaeus, Dryocopus martius and Lanius collurio.
