Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A complex coastal area of shallow bays, brackish lagoons and intertidal flats, south-east of the town of Djúpivogur.
Notable numbers of migrating waders stage here on passage (over 2,700 in May 1990).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No serious threats are known. The area is on the list of sites of conservation interest in the Nature Conservation Register.
