Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountainous area with Quercus woodland, dehesas, and extensive areas of scrub. The main human activities are game hunting, livestock-grazing, apiculture and cork harvesting (`Other' land-use, below).

Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding raptors, particularly Aquila adalberti. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aegypius monachus (2 resident pairs).
