Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A remote island and the surrounding rocky islets in the northern Aegean Sea. The dominant vegetation is phrygana.
An important site for breeding seabirds, raptors and for passage migrants. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Falco naumanni (passage).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats come from grazing of scrub and forest and from deliberate burning of the phrygana. The area is a candidate SAC.
