The swamps bordering Lake Lufira in southern Zaïre are a Secondary Area, defined by the range of the threatened Lake Lufira Weaver Ploceus ruweti (classified as Vulnerable). It was common in 1960 within this tiny range, but there is no recent information on its status or on the status of its wetland habitat.
