Endemic to Seram, Indonesia, Cacatua moluccensis is listed as Endangered because it is suspected to have declined by more than 50% over the past three generations (64 years). The principal driver of these declines has been rampant trapping for the pet trade, compounded by the impacts of logging and encroaching agriculture on lowland forests.
