Site description (2000 baseline)
The site is part of the Bremer wet-grassland belt (Bremer Wesermarsch) comprising agricultural meadows and pasture traversed by ditches. The Dunger See is the largest water-body in the area.

Key biodiversity
This site is also important for breeding species of wet grassland. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (breeding).
