Key biodiversity
Poaching of Yellow-crested Cockatoo Cacatua sulphurea, is predicted started in 1970s and increase between 1980-1990. This is common in the forest along river. Bird population in Alor Island is estimated between 678-782 birds. In 1998 survey, around 30 birds were recorded from this area (Setiawan et.al. 2000). Follow-up survey is needed to monitor the bird population.
