Site description (1999 baseline)
Telaga Warna is described as a small natural lake surrounded by mountain rain forest and located around 27 km south-east of Bogor. Cibulao is a small patches of forest (130 ha) close to Telaga Warna. Part of Telaga Warna-Cibulao is also part of Taman Wisata Alam (Recreation Park) Jember which is a popular tourist destination in West Java.

Key biodiversity
This area lies on the migration route of raptors such as Chinese Goshawk Accipiter soloensis and Oriental Honey-Buzzard Pernis ptilorhynchus. During 7 days observation (November 1997) around 7329 raptors counted pass this area (CIBA personal.obs.).

Non-bird biodiversity: Hylobates moloch, Presbytis comata and Trachypithecus auratus (Erftemeijer 1987, Asquith et.al.1995, Nijman 1997)
