Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the south-western part of Da’an City, adjacent to the borders of Taonan City and Tongyu County. The IBA is an important breeding and staging site for ducks. The provincial forestry authorities established a hunting ground there in 1993, but it is not very popular with hunters because of its inaccessibility. Based on field work during the migration seasons, it is estimated that more than 150,000 individual birds are sometimes present in the IBA.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Abundant in fish.
