Site description (2007 baseline)
Mawarizeki and Sunazawa reservoirs, which are located in the west of Aomori Prefecture, are agricultural ones surrounded by apple farms and rice paddies. The banks are reinforced by Phragmites australis, Salix and cement blocks as well. The reservoirs are nearly full of water in spring, and it is drained in autumn. The whole surface is frozen in winter.
