Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the northern part of Leibo County. The IBA is on the eastern slope of Huangmaogeng in the Liangshan mountains, north of the Jinsha Jiang river (i.e. the upper reaches of the Yangtze River).
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Important site also to Giant Panda, Lesser panda, Leopard, Musk Deer and Asiatic Black Bear.
