Site summary
This site encompasses the lower part of the central alpine Engadine valley, the Swiss National Park and the Val Müstair. The site includes natural forests, traditional agriculture and alpine regions. An important area for species associated with subalpine and alpine habitats and areas used for traditional agriculture. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet criteria in every year: Corncrake. A reintroduction programme of Bearded vulture is underway. Some parts of the site are included in an action plan for Corncrakes.
