Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the west of Napo County. The IBA has a hilly landscape and a good number of streams, and there are 31 peaks above 1,000 m. Broadleaf evergreen forest still survives at above 1,200 m.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Garcinia paucinervis and Burretiodendron hsienmu. Animals include Python molurus, Macaca assamensis, Capricornis sumatraensis, Viverra zibetha, Felis bengalensis and Selenarctos thibetanus.
