Site description (1994 baseline)
This desert site lies at c.900-1,200 m on the south-west edge of the Central Plateau near the city of Yazd. No detailed information is available on the habitat, etc. Land ownership is public.

Key biodiversity
See box for key species. An important breeding area for Chlamydotis undulata. Other breeding species include Buteo rufinus, Aquila chrysaetos, Falco tinnunculus, Alectoris chukar, Cursorius cursor, Pterocles orientalis, Columba livia and Athene noctua. Passage migrants include Buteo buteo, Aquila nipalensis, Accipiter nisus and Asio flammeus (rare).
