Site description (2019 baseline)
This IBA is situated in the NW Serbia in Bačka district between Sombor city and Hungarian border. At first glance agricultural lanscape also contains kilometres of tree rows, few tousands of hectares of alkaline meadows/pastures, two small fishponds, well developed channel network and several mostly alkaline lakes unique in whole Bačka. In terms of pedology, saline and loess deposits are primary soil types. From in total eight typical serried settlements two of them are situated inside IBA. The entire area of the IBA borders belongs to Sombor municipality.
