Site description (2009 baseline)
Diaoluo Shan Baishuiling Nature Reserve is located in the south-eastern part of the Wuzhi Shan mountains, and is one of the most important watershed forests in Hainan. The vegetation in the IBA includes lowland rainforest, valley rainforest, submit evergreen forest and secondary evergreen monsoon rainforest.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Neofelis nebulosa, Viverra zibetha, Viverricula indica, Macaca mulatta, Manis pentadactyla, Muntiacus muntjac, Cervus unicolor and Python molurus. Nationally protected plants include Dacrydium pierrei, Dacrycarpus imbricatus, Gmelina hainanensis and Manglietia fordiana.
