Site description (2009 baseline)
Daming Shan is located in central-south Guangxi Autonomous Region, in Wuming, Shanglin and Wushan counties. The IBA includes Daming Shan Nature Reserve and parts of Liangjiang and Matou towns in the south-west of the mountains, where small streams, ponds, small reservoirs and paddyfields provide suitable habitats for Gorsachius magnificus.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Alsophila spinulosa, and nationally protected animals include Capricornis sumatraensis, Selenarctos thibetanus and Moschus berezovskii.
